Overview

The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and producing content for web pages, blog posts, email campaigns, social media posts, and additional content to support dedicated verticals within the organization. In this role, you will work collaboratively on the Marketing Communications Team to lead communications initiatives and create messaging that supports Transcat, keeping top of mind our customer personas and brand voice. The ideal candidate will be an organized individual, a creative storyteller, and a team player who understands marketing principles and how to leverage content to drive user engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation of communications strategy through email and social media channels.
  • Design email campaigns and develop content for various dedicated campaigns, including marketing automation campaigns and customer segmented campaigns. Build new emails within email software and report on analytics. 
  • Work closely with the Digital Marketing Team to support SEO strategy by creating new website content and optimizing existing content.
  • Develop content for social media posts to align with the established content calendar. Monitor social media performance and recommend enhancements.
  • Create content for press releases, sales support material, and other deliverables as needed.
  • Perform research on industry trends, mine customer feedback, and interview SMEs within the organization to drive new content creation.
  • Occasionally strategize, perform research for, and develop long form content, including white papers, case studies, and other in-depth written pieces.
  • Actively organize and collect a repository of content suggestions for future use. Collaboratively work within the Marketing Communications Team to recommend new copy ideas or methods to incorporate updated messaging.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills to clearly articulate complex messages to a variety of audiences.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to respond quickly to changing priorities.
  • Excellent writing, grammatical, and proofreading skills required.
  • Experience working with marketing communication platforms, including social media channels and email software. Experience working with Hubspot, DotDigital, Hootsuite, and/or Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred.
  • Experience working with customer personas, brand guidelines, and campaign strategies.
  • Knowledge of incorporating SEO strategy into written digital content.
  • Comfortable with constructive criticism and able to navigate various stakeholder input in copywriting decisions.

Education and Experience:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in marketing communications; technical writing and/or B2B experience a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
