Conducts credit investigations and collects delinquent accounts, under the direction and supervision of the Credit Manager

Responsibilities

  • Investigates and verifies the financial status of new and existing customers as necessary.
  • Prepares files to substantiate findings, recommend rejections, approvals, and assignment of credit limits.
  • Validates credit limits as necessary to ensure adequacy to accommodate the current business volume.
  • Use Experian reporting to evaluate customer financial data, in addition to credit reference inquiry as necessary.
  • Review collection reports on a regular basis and ascertains the status of balances and open receivables assigned to a specific area.
  • Review and approve orders on “credit hold” throughout the day
  • Audit delinquent accounts to make sure adequate measures have been taken both internally and with outside support services.
  • Recommend accounts to be written off to Bad debt on a monthly basis and file paperwork/claims to be presented to outside agencies for collections.
  • Handle all customer service inquiries by both internal and external customers.
  • Prepare delinquency reports on a monthly basis for management review
  • Prepare other reports as directed by management,
  • Advise management of problems, issues, procedural changes necessary, etc. to ensure compliance with existing policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong working knowledge of general business and specifically accounting principles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret customer purchase orders, contracts, IT billing requirement documents, etc.    
  • Knowledge of Billing and A/R systems- AS400 experience preferable.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work in a remote environment towards team goals.
  • Salesforce experience is a plus.

 

Education and Experience:

  • At least 5 years experience in Credit or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
