Manages the financial reporting operations of the accounting department by performing the following duties. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with monthly closing of the general ledger and preparation of financial reports, including the balance sheet, statement of cash flows, statement of equity and others as needed 
  • Review and analyze account reconciliations 
  • Assist with preparation and coordination of audit process 
  • Identifies changes in GAAP and ensures Transcat’s compliance with new regulations
  • Leads accounting for business combinations
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and SOX 
  • Prepares and Reviews financial statements with Corporate Controller. 
  • Works on ad hoc accounting, financial matters and other duties assigned by management 
  • Provides supervision and coaching for accounting staff. 
  • Fosters change and continuous improvement. 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience    

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Accounting or Finance; and five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required  
  • Exceptional leadership abilities
