Calibration assistant is an entry level position, requiring no prior experience. This individual is expected to assist technicians as necessary to perform calibration work within the lab environment.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning deadweight tester weights
  • Cleaning the incoming equipment to be certified
  • Changing out batteries on incoming equipment
  • Cleaning the front inputs and filters
  • Taking care of the preventive maintenance checks of our standards
  • Ensure the preventive maintenance is completed on our generator and air compressor
  • Assisting opening incoming boxes from UPS and FedEx
  • Assisting in packaging units to be picked up by UPS and FedEx
  • Assist in emergency pickup and delivery of units from local customers
  • Assist with printing calibration certificates, matching calibration documentation to customer units, and performing visual inspection on customer units.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with basic tools
  • Ability to learn new skills
  • Proficiency with office computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Basic organizational and time management skills
  • Self- Starter
  • Needs little to no guidance on daily tasks
  • 3+ years driving experience with a valid driver’s license and acceptable driver history

 

Education and Experience

  • This position does not require any formal education

  • While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle tools and equipment
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Occasionally will be required to lift upwards of 75lbs

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
