  • Pay range is $85,000-$115,000

 

The Quality Manager will play a key leadership role within the Quality Assurance department and serve as a primary driver of quality excellence across our network of accredited labs. This role oversees a team of Quality Analysts and ensures compliance with all applicable quality standards, including ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, ANSI Z540-1, and ANSI Z540.3 across the Transcat network. The ideal candidate combines a solid foundation in quality systems with technical knowledge of calibration practices and the ability to lead with influence, integrity, and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure training and development plans are in place and communicated to employees to drive performance improvement and career progression.
  • Complete and deliver accurate, thorough, and prescriptive employee performance reviews on the required timeline. 
  • Lead, coach, and manage a team of Quality Analysts supporting the Transcat network of laboratories.
  • Ensure full compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, ANSI Z540.1, ANSI Z540.3, and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to meet accreditation and regulatory requirements.
  • Interpret standards and translate requirements into practical policies, procedures, and training for operational teams.
  • Oversee internal audit programs, coordinate external assessments, and drive effective corrective action and root cause processes.
  • Act as a technical resource for calibration methodology and measurement uncertainty, ensuring alignment with relevant standards.
  • Analyze quality performance data, track trends, and present findings to senior leadership with strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve customer complaints, nonconformances, and process gaps.
  • Deliver ongoing training to ensure staff competency in quality requirements and continuous improvement practices.
  • Support the Director of Quality in executing company-wide quality strategies and improvement initiatives.
  • Model the Company’s values to influence others to perform in an aligned manner.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated expertise in ISO/IEC 17025, ANSI Z540.1, ANSI Z540.3, and ISO 9001 standards, and how they apply to calibration services and laboratory operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of calibration processes, measurement traceability, uncertainty, and metrological principles.
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor teams across multiple locations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to interact with auditors, clients, and internal teams effectively.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills; experience with quality data reporting and root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality system platforms (CAPA systems, document control, etc.).

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
